If you want to be confused more, then Funcom doesn't do a good job of tagging items with tags that make sense. ![]() Epic gear gives better stats and attribute bonuses for the cosmetic look of armor that you want, and Epic gear is only crafted from Perfected pieces. For armors, you can craft the level 60 variant of most lower tier armors. Epic gear can only be crafted once you reach level 60. Basic gear is gear that's crafted from any level between 1 to 60, and can even be learned from recipes acquired from the world. Then, there are Basic gear, and then Epic gear. This is gear that's been crafted with a tier 4 or named thrall. Gear that's prefixed with Flawless is considered as the highest grade of gear. This is gear that's been crafted with a tier 2 or tier 3 thrall. Gear that's prefixed with Exceptional is considered as a higher grade of gear. This is gear that's been crafting with no thrall, or only a tier 1 thrall. ![]() Gear without a prefix could be considered as "normal" gear or "standard" gear. In regards to crafting, there are three tiers of gear: Normal, Exceptional, and Flawless. There's other tags on gear that says Low Grade, High Grade, and Legendary, but those tags are so random on items that it doesn't really give you any sense of what they mean.
